The pandemic led to the closure of educational institutes around the world, and the mode of teaching changed dramatically, resulting in a phenomenal rise of e-learning.
Various innovations are trying to provide alternate platforms for teaching and learning. In this context, libraries, are witnessing significant transformations, and are taking efforts to rediscover and stay relevant. This has given us an opportunity to look at new ways to make libraries become more meaningful and productive. The CEPT Library, a recent addition to the CEPT university campus, has made exemplary efforts in leveraging its physical and digital space to provide access to unique resources and services to a large community of readers.
The Seminar this year focuses on how to reinvent and manage our physical spaces and how they can be integrated with our digital resources. The topic is looked at
from four points or aspects and each become the sub-theme of the seminar.
Owing to the current situation the Seminar will be held online. Since this Seminar is online; there will be only two invited speakers for each sub-theme.

ADINET in collaboration with MICA, will be conducting a Seminar on 25th August 2018 at MICA, Ahmedabad.
The Seminar theme is: Startup India and Role of Libraries.
21st century India boasts of remarkable initiatives that can catapult the economy of the country to the ranks of the developed countries and one such initiative is developing and nurturing the Indian Startup ecosystem.
More than 10,000 technological, startups now exist in India. The Government provides many schemes, funds and policy and institutional support to encourage Startups in the country.
The involvement of premier institutions such as IIMs, IITs, NITs, IITs, IISERs, and so on in the Startup activities that includes establishing entrepreneurship cells and technology incubators calls for a proactive role for libraries to actively participate in this movement and provide information support.
Dynamic Libraries can play an active role in transforming the Indian society into an enterprising one by providing learning spaces, maker spaces, access to Internet, access to numerous subscribed and free online resources and many more services. Hence it would be useful that various Startup schemes should be linked with libraries so that they provide crucial information support that Startups need.

Sub-theme 2. Essential Skills & Competencies of LIS Professionals to Support Startup India; and

One day Workshop on Co-operative Cataloging and Data Conversion
Date: 26th Jul, 2014 to 26th Jul, 2014 Brochure:View Brochure Contact on: alibnet@gmail.com
More Information
ADINET in collaboration with INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar and Center for Environmental Planning & Technology is organizing a one day Workshop on Cooperative Cataloguing and Data Conversion on Saturday 26th July, 2014 at the Center for Environmental Planning & Technology, Ahmedabad. The major technical work done in libraries is classification, cataloging, indexing and data entry of books. This is a time consuming process which requires knowledge of cataloging and also knowledge of the subject covered in the book. Again the catalog work done may not be error free and in a standardized format.
Most college libraries are managed by only one technical staff. Hence the need and importance of co-operative cataloging. Providing support for technical work to College Library Professionals will enable them to devote more time for reader's services.
Both Co-operative Cataloging and Retrospective Conversion will now be more feasible since most college libraries have installed Soul Software.
The workshop will cover the work done for data conversion of the library resources. It has been observed that some college libraries, school libraries and government.
District libraries or public libraries have not yet made use of computers for their library work and are still using traditional library methods. Some of the libraries have introduced automation but catalog details of their entire book collection are not in machine readable form.
